Conditions

To be eligible for these rebates, your business should meet the following criteria:

Hold an Australian Business Number (ABN): Your business needs to have a valid ABN.

Single Location under One ABN: If your business operates from multiple locations but is registered under a single ABN, you can apply for a rebate for only one of those locations.

Multiple Locations with Different ABNs: If your business, such as a franchise, has distinct ABNs for each location, you can apply for a rebate for each of those locations.

Registered for GST: Your business should be registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Not a Public Company: Your business should not be classified as a public company according to the Corporations Act 2001.

Headquarters and Operations in Queensland: Your business must have its main office located in Queensland and operate from premises within the state.

Employ 2 to 199 Full-Time Employees: Your business should have a staff count of at least 2 but no more than 199 full-time (or equivalent) employees, including the business owner.

No Previous Funding: You are not eligible for the rebate if you have already received financial assistance for the same equipment through a prior round of this scheme or any other government funding. This excludes loans and pertains to grants or subsidies. IMPORTANT ****  While you cannot upgrade the same equipment under multiple programs, you can claim different products though multiple programs. For example - If you had your highbay lights upgraded under the ERF program recently, you can still upgrade the rest of your lighting through other areas like offices, get a hot water heater, or any of the other products available under the QBEST program.

Please note that your business should already be in operation. The rebate does not apply if you purchased equipment to establish a new business. Lastly, some of these conditions are purposely left vague. You may think you do not qualify, but it is always advisable to check directly with the program to confirm this. They are not in the business of denying claims so if you are unsure, give them a call.
